Balms, balms, balms! How to fight dry & chapped lips.

Family picture 😉

Baby, it’s cold outsideeee, which also means one thing: the fight against chapped lips is ON!  I brought out all my little friends, which help me keep my lips hydrated and healthy.

The sticks & the lip peeling

SW.Basics lipbalm: This was an impulse buy, but surprisingly a pertinant one, because those are the creamiest lip balms I’ve ever tried. Made with 4 ingredients, that’s all you need for smooth lips.
I’m currently using the citrus balm (I haven’t opened the others yet) and oh my! I carry it everywhere with me. It keeps the lips incredibly hydrated and soft.
Crazy Rumors : I did a review a while ago. These are less creamy, but the flavors are fantastic. Bringing you straight back to childhood with flavors like raspberry sherbet, mint chocolate, candy cane, bubble gum… They are 100% natural and they smell delicious. A treat for your lips and for your senses. Very budget-friendly as well.
SANTE Yummy berry lip peeling : I’m a big fan of SANTE products, for their quality and affordable prices. (Also I may have found a very great mascara, but that’s going to be for another post shh…) This lip peeling was part of a limited edition serie called “tender lips”
It smells like raspberry, which is one of my favorite scents. I just squeeze a tiny amount and apply it on my lips. Then you simply let the magic happens, lips feel smooth and rosy.

The jars
Top left :
Egyptian Magic cream : (reviewed here) a teeny tiny amount suffices to get glossy lips (it quickly melts into an oil consistency). A slight olive smell but nothing too dramatic. In case of serious jaw-dropping cold temperatures, this balm will work its magic.
Middle row from left to right :
Moa the green balm :  Another all-purpose balm. I got this sample a while ago and it’s odorless yet very moisturizing.  I have found it effective as a lip base before lipstick application. It prevents the lipstick from settling into the fine lines, and maintains the moisture in the lips.
Peppy Galore healing balm : Same as Moa, it’s an all-purpose balm, but more affordable. I really love the macadamia oil smell. It is rich but absorbs very quickly, I also use it before putting on lipstick.
The organic oil co. in Wild mint : I got this in December and I have to say it’s ace! I utterly fell in love with it. All organic, made in Sweden. Scandinavians are used to freezing temperatures, so you can trust them for coming up with moisturizing products. I particularly enjoy its versatility, because it doubles as a lip scrub. The little granules in it, will get rid of any dead skin. I bought the wild mint lip balm, but they also have one in grapefruit for those who are more inclined towards fruity scents.
Bottom :
Bodhi Cacao Cocoon lip treatment : One word “Bodhilicious”! It has become a staple in my night time routine : I simply apply it before going to bed, and in the morning, my lips are silky smooth and moist. Packed with antioxydants, such as (to quote a few) Cocoa butter, Red Raspberry Seed Oil, Seabuckthorn oil etc… your lips are in for a treat! The ultimate pamper product for your lips. Subtle, sleek, delicate and high-effective: I have a feeling that I’m going to get more Bodhi products.
And that’s a wrap! As you can see, lots to choose from, according to your tastes and budgets. You could let me know if you have tried any of these, or you could share your secret against dry and dehydrated lips 😉
Take care,
Liz

  • Lots of great choices for sure 🙂 The Sante Lip Peeling sounds neat…the limited edition products never seem to make it here unfortunately!

    • Thank you! It's a shame that some Sante products don't make it overseas: actually Sante is one of the very few brands that I can purchase in my local health store. This lip peeling is lovely, because it does remind me of these little fruity "glosses" I had as a pre-teen, because it smells incredible 🙂 xx

    • Hehe we're lip balms buddies 🙂 I recently went and got some more as well. I think I get what you mean with Crazy rumors, even though I never tried Stevia, I do prefer SW. Basics for the creaminess. I want to try RL Linden so bad, but they're not available in Europe, are they? I love Green love! I'm obsessed with their berry body creams, haven't tried their lipbalms yet. Thank you for the suggestions 🙂 xx
