Since it’s still #NoBuyJanuary I decided to do a post of some samples that I’ve used up during the month. In December I ordered from Spirit Beauty Lounge for the first time. When
I’m browsing online for natural beauty products, you’ll sometimes find me drooling over unattainable goodies from overseas. However Spirit Beauty Lounge offers for the price of 25$ a customized sample kit : you can choose 9 samples and they are shipped for free.

If your shipping destination is not included, you can write them an email, which is what I did and they quickly added my destination. Now look at how cute the packaging is: it’s wrapped with so much care and attention!

There was also a yummy pomegranate lollipop included, but it mysteriously disappeared before I managed to snap a picture 😉 |

When it comes to samples, I like to experiment. With the exception of May Lindstrom, it was my first time trying these brands. Also, I may have chosen quite pricey and luxurious brands, but
this is the reason I order samples. I’m not impulsively splurging on a product if I’m not sure, whether it’s
adapted to my skin or not. Those are samples of brands I was itching to try. I picked up 4 skincare and 5 makeup items.
(I put a checkmark on those that I’m interested in getting in full-size)
I have dark brown eyes and I really enjoy plum, berry-toned colors in my makeup look. Surprisingly it’s versatile and you can easily transform you daytime look to nightime look. The shimmer is subtle but instantly brights the eye. The staying power is really good. I was really impressed by the quality, plus they are quite affordable. Once I use up my Jane Iredale palette, I’ll probably purchase this color and try some others (✔)
I’ve been seeing KW products everywhere on the blogosphere, so I couldn’t pass the opportunity to get some samples.
First I got their eyeshadow “Pretty Purple”. It has a matte finish, and is leaning more towards brown than purple. Highly pigmented, a tiny amount is sufficient to dab on your eyelids. This looks fantastic for a smokey eye effect.
Lip tint in “sweetness” is a very nice coral peachy color, a bit similar to ILIA in “Shell shock”. The texture is creamy and moisturizing.
Note: on their website, Kjaer Weis adds that the colors “Romance” and “Sweetness” contain a small amount of artificial pigment. I do appreciate their honesty and transparency, but I think I’ll try their other colors.
Last
but not least, I got a sample of the newly launched
foundation in “Paper
thin”. Don’t get me wrong, I still like my RMS
un cover-up, but I’m always open for new
possibilites haha. Texture wise, it is less “oily” than RMS and the
shade matches my skin tone. The coverage is good, obviously you need some moisturizer before the application However I won’t splurge on KW products in the near future, because I have enough makeup at the moment.
I wanted to try the Nudist colorbalm n°2 because I’m going through a plum and berry phase. It’s a bit sheerer than I expected it to be, but then it’s a tinted balm, so I shouldn’t be complaining. It has a slight fruity smell and it’s moisturizing. My lips felt soft and smooth. I surely wouldn’t mind trying some other W3LL people products.
Fun Fact : on Instagram, I learned that W3ll People is a make-up sponsor of the show
the Blacklist! How cool is that?
A coveted face oil, I immediately fell in love with the packaging (remember? I’m a big star & moon print lover 🙂 but then the ingredients enchanted me even more: Rose oil, Prickly Pear Seed Oil and Argan oil. Doesn’t it sound like a match made in heaven? I was looking for a solid and good facial oil to add to my beauty routine. I felt that my skin was looking quite dull and I believed that an efficient oil could help freshen it up. This one surely did!
Skin felt rejvenated, I also did notice a better skin elasticity. It leaves no greasy finish and the smell is absolutely divine. This product is an absolute treat, It’s on my wishlist but I’ll have to save a bit before purchasing it (✔)
It’s one of Pai’s star product! Rich in Vitamin E, it is supposed to boost the skin’s healing process. Even after a few uses, it already evened out my complexion a bit, reduced some redness and gave me a nice little glow. This is the least expensive oil of this bunch and I’m seriously considering getting it. ✔
This is a serum with antibacterial and anti-inflamatory properties for oily skin, with ingredients such as lemongrass, myrrh, niaoli, calendula, chickweed, lavender, echinacea, etc. I couldn’t ignore this product. The smell is zesty and the application immediately refreshes the skin. My skin was quite inflamed at the moment because of the cold and the stress but this has helped me keep a balanced skin. I’ll put this oil on my wishlist as well (✔)
Therapeutic Balancing Face Oil is a protective serum is an herb-infused
oil that will balance sebum production. – See more at:

I think it’s my third sample of this goodness haha! Every single time I used it, I noticed some improvements on my skin. I’ve professed numerous times my love for her
products. This is the one I’m most likely to splurge on, because this mask is just incredible (not to mention that I’m quite the mask fanatic). ✔
Overall, I was very pleased with this little kit and I’ll definitely try to order some samples again from Spirit Beauty Lounge. Have you tried any of these products or did you order a sample kit from Spirit Beauty Lounge? Let me know 🙂
Take care,
Liz

Some great samples! 🙂 I so badly want the Kjaer Weis Kip Tint ♥ thanks for sharing xx
Thank you Louise! You are so welcome 🙂 Believe me, it took me some time to select them, because there is so much to choose from on Spirit Beauty! I hope you get to try some KW lip tints, the colors are absolutely gorgeous 🙂 xx
It's a great little sample service I am really happy with the ones I chose, I want to try the Alima pure eye shadow and Mun serum too. I have to say that Kjaer Weis Romance is my favourite shade despite the artificial pigment is just is so pretty Xx
I'm glad you're happy with your kit too! You are going to love Mun, it smells heavenly 🙂 I appreciate KW specifying that 2 liptints contain artificial colors, I guess, to reach those kinds of colors, they needed some "chemical" help 😉 xx
Great post miss!!!
I tend to use less samples as I often do not notice results that quickly. I rather check the longterm effects. But the "first impressions" are super important too, hence using samples can help! Would love to try ML products, but waoh, quite pricey :-))x
Thank you so much!! I agree that it's in the long run that you see the most significant results, but I was able to use the samples 4-5 times. The oils for instance are potent and I was already able to tell their specificity. Those are such luxurious products, and I was really curious to see how they felt on my skin 🙂 ML products are pricey, hence why I got several times a sample haha 😉 xx
Brilliant post about a brilliant service. You picked up some fantastic samples and while I'm not really a make-up girl, even I was drooling at what you were trying out! x
Aw thank you lovely! it took me so much time to know to choose what to order haha 😉 I'm glad you liked them. 🙂 xx
This is a great way to find out if products are worth the money! I really want to try some Kjaer Weis samples as I've heard great things about them but will be buying Uncover-up when I go to New york! This is such a good service, might have to try this out! xx
Absolutely! If I had bought all these products full-size, I'd have been broke for months haha 🙂 Un cover-up is great. I heard KW is a bit more difficult to apply for dry skin, rms is more hydrating. You should definitely try the sample kit, there is so muc to choose from and it's so well packaged 🙂 xx
Trying new samples is so much fun – a lot of these sound really interesting 🙂 x

I completely agree! I was so giddy when I received my package 😉 Let me know if you ever try any of these. I would love to hear your thoughts 🙂 xx
I love the Pai oil and desperately want to try some of the Kjaer Weis makeup. It just looks so pretty x
The Pai oil is lovely, I think I'm going to get the full-size. Kjaer Weis products are absolutely beautiful but they surely come with a price. So I had to get samples! Hope you get to try KW products soon 🙂 xx
