Left: Vapour Mesmerize eye shimmer Right: Jane Iredale, Zip & Hide Blemish concealer |
Since I splurged on the Jane Iredale Glamour Eye & Lip palette, I’ve been playing non-stop with it and subsequently neglected the rest of my eye makeup products.
What a shame, since I left aside such a lovely product : Vapour Mesmerize Eye Shimmer in “sugar” As you can see, this is a sort of a champagne pink shimmery color. Correct me if I’m wrong, but quite reminiscent of “dust” or “burnout” in the Naked 3 palette ( I’ve never tried any of these palettes, but I saw the pictures 😉
It’s a versatile product. First you have to warm it in circular motion on the back of your hand to ease the application. It can be worn alone. That’s what I do, I put it all over my lid and it gives a soft, but luminous look. However, it also works as a coat, base for powdered mineral eyeshadow.
Now on to the Jane Iredale Zap & Hide Blemish Concealer. This is the first concealer I ever bought : I just loved the idea of having a 2-in-1 product i.e. a spot treatment + a concealer !
The packaging isn’t too bad either : I love the fact that it’s a stick.
It works great for dark circles, but I can’t quite compare it to my RMS Beauty concealer, since it’s a bit dry and works less subtly on the skin. But it’s still a nice and convenient item to keep in your bag just in case.
Unfortunately, I was less impressed by the “Zap” part, which is supposed to treat the zit. I did not see any improvements, but it could be because tea tree oil doesn’t seem to work well on my skin; I have tried different tea tree oil products, but to no avail.
According to the company’s website, there is a newly improved version, so I’d love to hear your opinion if you have tried it.
Have you tried any of these products? Have you rediscovered any old products?
Take care,
Liz

The Vapour shimmer looks lovely, I've tried a sample of their foundation and quite liked it, might have to give this product a go next! Do you find that it lasts as long as a powder eyeshadow? x
The color is gorgeous, but personally I think it's not as long lasting as powder eyeshadow for several reasons: 1. the color is very subtle and translucent on the skin (but it depends on the skintone and the skin type, it stays longer on dry skin). The shimmer stays in place though. 2. It has to be built up a lot if you want to use it as a full blown eyeshadow. I'd recommend for you to try a sample first. Let me know if you try it, and how you like it 🙂 x
The Vapour eye shadow is such a lovely colour, it's easy to forget products when you move on to new ones, this is a great idea for a post 🙂 Xx
Thank you Ana 🙂 I don't have that issue with skincare products though, I just realized that I went a bit crazy last year with makeup products 😉 I'm happy to be able to use up those products now. Xx
