The United Nations of Green Beauty Products : Sweden has Green Love!

Hej hej!*
All the way from Scandinavia, I present to you Green love!

What’s Green Love?
I first heard about Green Love last year, when I was looking for natural berry scented products. (I was craving berries, I guess 😉 I found my happiness on EccoVerde.de, where they actually sell some Green Love products. Organic, and 100% vegan, Green Love was founded by Jenny Jahn. Crafted with utter simplicity, she only selects raw and pure ingredients and her beauty products are handmade in Sweden. Most ingredients are organic & fairtrade. All oils are unrefined and coldpressed. Green Love offers a wide range of products (face and body products, fragrances etc..) and a part of the proceeds go to charities for animal protection. If you are curious about the origin of the raw materials used, Green Love also has a page on their website listing all the ingredients used, along with their source (here).

The products :
The Ice cream Body Butter, berry scented, I purchased this body cream quite some time ago and while doing a quick research online, I realized that it’s not available anymore. The one I have is a mixed berry body butter, whereas now you can choose separate berry flavors. Currently available : Strawberry, Blackberry, Coconut and Vanilla.
I really enjoyed using this body product, especially for it’s delicate but lovely berry scent. Containing olive oil, jojoba, shea butter, it’s a creamy and very moisturizing body cream, but without being greasy. A small amount is sufficient and it very easily absorbed by the skin. I truly wish I could show you how it looks inside but it’s empty (sorry about that!) I had finished the bottle before coming with this post series, but trust me, it was a creamy, whipped texture with a pastel pink color. Definitely reminiscent of ice cream 🙂
Blackberry:  **shea butter (Butyrospermum Parkii), **olive (olea europaea), *jojoba (simmondsia chinensis), ***candelilla (Euphorbia cerifera, *blackberry (Rubus Fruticosus), *vanilla (vanilla planifolia). *Organic & certified ** Organic & fairtrade certified *** organically grown and natural certified.

Vanilla & Wild Strawberry deodorant

Time for a confession…this is my first time trying cream deodorants, I’ve only used deodorant spritzers and alun stones so far. Therefore, there’s nothing I can compare this one to. I’ll just break down my impressions. Let’s start off with the scent : Vanilla – Wild Strawberry. This sold me right away, because the combination is simply delicious. While the smell is not overpowering, the subtle berry and vanilla aroma still manages to linger on your skin upon application (Yay for strawberry-field-scented armpits! 😉 The deodorant has a waxy texture, but upon application it quickly melts and is easily absorbed by the skin. The deodorant is specifically formulated for sensitive underarms. I was also pleased to see that it didn’t leave any marks on my clothes.
Now, does it work as an odor fighter? Absolutely!  However, I do wish it would last a bit longer: during a busy, hectic day, or simply in warmer and sunny times, you’ll definitely need to reapply some cream once or twice during the day.
INCI/Ingredients: (Vegan): *Tapioca (Manihot Esculenta), **extra virgin olive (olea europaea), Bicarbonate with NO aluminum , ***candelilla (Euphorbia cerifera), *Vanilla extract
(Vanilla planifolia), *Strawberry (Fragaria ananassa).
*Eco certified ** Eco & fairtrade certified ***Organic farmed.

I do aspire to try more of their products, especially the fragrances! If you haven’t read Nath’s aka the wonderful Beautycalypse’s brilliant fragrance reviews, click here and here.

So… are you feeling the Green love? 😉 Do you know any Swedish green brands?
Tack* for reading!
Take care,

Liz

  • Hej Liz! Vilken bra recension! 🙂 I'll have you google translate that although I'm sure you can suss out what it means! I have to admit, with some shame (I am half Swedish after all!) that I hadn't heard of this brand before. But it definitely looks like one to get to know better, especially love the sound of the body butter. Vanilla and Strawberry smelling armpits? Nice! My list of alternative cream deos (love them now thanks to Soapwalla!) is growing quickly which is nice, means I can play around with some more scents as well. Great review as always Liz and I love the new United Nations of Green Beauty thread! xx

    • I had to google translate it haha. Thank you so much lovely! I'll use this Swedish expression for your posts as well 😉 As I told you on Twitter, Green Love seems to be a bit under the radar, probably because it's quite artisanal but it certainly deserves some love. Now great your review of Soapwalla makes me want to try it pronto. Seems like the consistency of Soapwalla is also a bit more pleasant. xx
