My Green Beauty Swap with Katie (Katie Vibes)

For the Spring/Summer edition of the Green Beauty Swap, organised by the lovely Ria from NatuRiaBeauty, I was paired up with the ever so sweet Katie from KatieVibes. Of course it went super well, and we both agreed on getting each other a little mix of everything – no particular rules, with the exception that it had to be vegan. As you may or may not know, Katie is vegan and this was a fantastic opportunity to expand my horizons, and learn more from her about green vegan beauty products!

With the exception of Hurraw, those are brands that I had never tried before, which makes it a double joy! I’ll see if I’d want to try more from these brands in the future. Let the testing time begin 😉

Hurraw earl gray lip balm : Oh Hurraw, how I’ve missed you! It’s been a long time since I got another of their lip balms, so I was so delighted to spot it in the package. No need to tell you that it was immediately put to use.
Katie’s guess was spot-on, because Earl gray definitely would have been my first choice.

NYR Remedies to roll Energy: I’ve been itching to try NYR for a very long time, because their products are really difficult to get outside of the UK. I had just come back from work when I opened the parcel, and I had to apply it immediately for a little boost of energy. I’ve already put it in my handbag, because it’s a must-have when you’re running around all day like me haha.

Odylique (formerly known as Essential Care) Organic Moisimix Body oil: Another brand on my radar and this is a lightweight and moisturising body oil with a refreshing lemongrass aroma. Lemongrass or anything zesty always wins me over, so I’ll be using this a lot this Summer.

Skin Blossom rose geranium hand cream: Another first for me! A few weeks ago, I was left with no hand cream since I had run out of my beloved Primavera Ginger & Lemongrass one. I’ve already used it, and I’m absolutely loving how nourishing it feels without leaving a greasy film. The smell is subtle, which is exactly what I look for in a hand cream.

BWC Ultimate natural soft kohl pencil : Another great guess from Katie, who seems to have psychic abilities 😉 since I do not own any grey eye pencils. It will be a nice change from my usual black or brown eyeliner.  I swatched it on my hand and the pigmentation looks really nice, and it goes on smoothly, so I can’t wait to use it.

Silk Naturals eyeshadow samples Meme & Chat : I’m on a makeup spending ban – until the Field Trip Tour in London – so I have put Silk Naturals on my waitlist for quite some time, and it’s been hard not to give in when you hear the rave reviews. I remember being particularly tempted by their lip prodcuts after Katie did a gorgeous review (here), but after a long browse on their website, I knew I needed to try their eye makeup as well.  Meme is a vibrant lilac/orchid shade and Chat is kind of a turquoise green shade. They’re so bright and shimmery and I’m eager to experiment with these.

Shiro Cosmetics sample “Gift of Mercy” : Another first! Katie blogged about it as well, and yesterday I saw Jen’s brilliant swatches (here). I mentally put this brand on my waiting list as well. Gift of Mercy, seems to be an intense dark brown with shimmers. Looks like the perfect color for a smokey eye!

Samples from Katie’s stash: I love hearing about other’s skincare routine and these are products that Katie is currently using. 1. Pai geranium + thistle cream, a sample I tried and enjoyed a long time ago, this will give me the opportunity to see if I still carry a torch for this cream. 2. Balance Me Radiance Face mask/scrub 3. Balance Me Congested skin serum
Balance Me is really popular in the beauty community, and I’ll probably try the face mask later this week. The congested skin serum sounds exactly like something I could really use at the moment, because my skin isn’t liking this hot and humid weather.

Super sweet card and cupcake stickers : Among our love for green products, Katie and I share a fondness for stationary! The cute cupcake stickers will definitely come in handy, and I enjoyed reading Katie’s sweet little note.

A massive thank you to my dear Katie! I’m very excited to incorporate all those lovely bits to my beauty routine, and I’m so happy we got to get to know each other better through the green beauty swap 🙂
You can see what I got for Katie on her blog (here)

Take care,

Liz
