Exfoliating was for a long time my least favorite part of the skin routine, but it’s a must-do because the results following this are a no-brainer. Things are different now that I’ve found two products that work for me. I’ve been gravitating towards these two products for a few months, and I haven’t felt the need to go on the hunt for new exfoliators to try. So that’s a good sign, right?

One Love Organics Brand New Day, Microderma scrub & Masque
Worshipped and reviewed by lots of green and non-green bloggers, Brand New Day lives up to the hype. This is the travel size (15ml) but it’s been lasting me for the last three months, because a little goes a long way – when not used as a mask that is. The exfoliating granules mixed with a little water form a creamy paste that will lift away any surface impurities.
It’s my go-to product whenever I feel my skin fragile and in need of something as gentle as possible, to avoid all skin hell to be let loose. It has a very subtle pineapple aroma which also makes it even better.
Ingredients: Organic Zea Mays (Corn) Starch,Organic Pisum Sativum (Sweet Pea) Flour, Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate, Organic Ananas Comosus (pineapple) fruit extract, Sodium Myristoyl Glutamate, proprietary natural and organic fragrance compounds.

Pai Organic Kukui & Jojoba bead Skin Brightening Exfoliator
I absolutely adore this product, the effect on your skin is almost immediate. After each time, my face feels refreshed and looking more bright, even and super soft. The zesty scent is also an instant pick-me up. It has a gel texture which is very pleasant and smooth, hence causing no irritation. The exfoliation is provided by the jojoba beads which are taking care of refining the skin texture and gently removing dead skin cells. Compared to OLOs rather minimalistic ingredient list, Pai’s exfoliator is slightly more exotic, containing Hawaiian Kukui oil. The latter has essential fatty acids (linoleic and linolenic) for skin health.
Pai recommends following this with their renowned rosehip oil for a guaranteed radiant-looking face.
Ingredients: helianthus annuus seed oil*, glycerin*,prunus amygdalus dulcis oil* , aleurites moluccana seed oil*, prunus armeniaca kernel oil*, carthamus tinctorius seed oil*, persea gratissima oil*, hydrogenated castor oil, (and) hydrogenated jojoba oil, sucrose laurate, citrus aurantium dulcis fruit water*, boswellia carterii oil*, litsea cubeba fruit oil*, mixed tocopherols

What is your favorite scrub/exfoliator?

Take care,

Liz

  • Liz! My favorite exfoliator creation is Pai's Camellia and rose soap + meow meow tweets walnut oat face exfoliant. I imagine it's what sleeping beauty used while exfoliating as she waltzed around a disney forest. (AMAZING).

    • It's been a skin savior lately, because my skin had some bad reaction to products and OLO's is one of the few that didn't cause further damage. It's great as a mask too because you can create your own concoction with it 🙂 xx

  • Wondering if anyone has tried the Earth Tu Face one? Looks great but at $72 I'd love to hear any reviews. Very big jar so I know it would last a very long time.

    • No I haven't tried anything from Earth Tu Face yet. It does look good, I just wish they had a travel size like OLO, so that you can make sure it works great for your skin before purchasing the full size 🙂 xx

  • Brand New Day is my absolute first exfoliator love! Right now I'm enjoying MLS the clean dirt, feels so great to spice up my face! ;D

    • Ahh the Clean Dirt, I felt like it was similar to the Problem Solver and since I could only spend that much on one product…but I might get it once I use up The Problem Solver, we'll see haha 😉 xx

  • I think I am partial to the One Love Organics Brand New Day, it just works so well and is very versatile. But I definitely want to give Pai a try. Both are brands I adore.

    • Exactly! Both are just stellar brands, Pai revives dull skin, and the gel texture is great for anyone not fond of the "scrub" feeling 🙂 xx

  • The pinapple should contain bromelain, an enzyme that smoothens the skin. At the moment I use the Kneipp enzyme exfoliator, but yours sounds very good, too. I think I will give it a try. Thanks for the review!

  • Ooh I need to try both by the sounds of it! I still have my teeny sample sizes that I bought at Content on the Field Trip of OLO so I'm going to search through my stash to find those to try the scrub..sounds amazing and I love pineapple!

  • Both of these sound absolutely lovely! I still have some exfoliating left with my May Lindstrom Problem Solver but once I'm done with it I will definitely be giving these a closer look. Wonder which to try first!? xx
