Last edition of my little summer products series (see previous posts here). I first became acquainted with Eco By Sonya via Instagram, where I noticed the popularity of their self-tanning products. They are the only tanning company certified by the Oganic Food Chain in Australia and they are vegan and cruelty-free. What caught my eyes was their range of body products, which is coconut galore! While I deter from coconut in face products, I’ve never experienced any issues when using coconut in body care *sigh of relief*. While Eco By Sonya can obviously be used all year round, the products ooze summer, seashores and beach fun to me. I feel like every product has been designed to tackle numerous issues such as flakiness, dryness, whiteheads etc. because I definitely noticed an improvement in the overall state of my skin.
Organic coconut and mint body wash
Refreshing and hydrating at the same time. Actually, I don’t even feel the need to follow up with body lotion. My skin is already soft after using this. I find this particularly efficient after working out or having endured the heat all day, because the peppermint works wonders to revitalize. Make sure to shake the bottle well beforehand to get the coconut benefits, because otherwise the coconut oil settles at the bottom of the bottle.
Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice*, Decyl Glucoside**, Sodium Lauryl Lactylate**, Glycerin*, Leuconostoc/Radish Ferment Filtrate**, Glyceryl Caprylate**, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Oil*, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil)*, Xanthan Gum**,Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba (Guar) Gumm**, Anisic Acid**. Organic coconut body milk
Rich, creamy, decadent, the coconut body milk keeps dry and flaky skin at bay. It melts into the skin, and leaves the skin beautifully nourished. Used quickly after the exfoliant glove, it hydrates and replenishes the skin and locks the water into the skin, thus soothing dryness and irritation. You probably heard the expression “beach body”. Well to me it has absolutely nothing to do with size – oh the ridiculous things you read on magazines sometimes – to me getting my beach body on means using the coconut body lotion for a smooth and tropical-scented skin.
Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice*, Glycerin*, Coconut (Cocos Nucifera) Oil*, Macadamia Ternifolia (Macadamia Nut) Seed Oil*, Cetearyl Alcohol**, Glyceryl Stearate**, Coco-caprylate**, Candelilla/ Jojoba/Rice Bran Polyglyceryl-3 Esters**, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate**, Glyceryl Caprylate**, Schlerotium Gum**, Xanthan Gum**, Vanilla
Planifolia Fruit Oil*, Leuconstoc/ Radish Root Ferment Filtrate**, Anisic Acid**
Eco Tan Extreme Exfoliant glove
While it’s supposed to be great for for pre and post tanning, I used it to as good old glove to remove dead skin layers, and smoothe the skin. Exfoliant gloves are awesome, because they are easier and quicker to use than sponges or scrubs, particularly when it comes to exfoliating the legs. I’ve always had little whiteheads on my arms, but after religiously using the exfoliant glove for several weeks, I’ve noticed that some whiteheads were gone. I wish I was that consistent with dry brushing in the morning though 🙂
The coconut deodorant
The coconut deodorant neutralizes body odors really well. When it comes to deodorants, I have to admit that I’m partial to sprays, because it’s quick, convenient and there’s no risk of staining my clothes. The scent is very light, fresh and coconutty (not sickly at all). It contains baking soda though. I’m not particularly sensitive to it, but I know it can be an issue for some. I just wish it would last longer: on a regular day, it works perfectly fine, but I do have to reapply several times during stronger
heat. The size is also great, because it fits easily in my handbag.
Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice*, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract*, Sodium Bicarbonate, Ethanol, Coconut Flavour, Glycerin, Lavendula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract*, Chamomilla Recutita
(Chamomile) Flower Extract*, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate.*Certified Organic
I can’t wait to explore the rest of the range, I’m already eyeing the Pink Himalayan salt scrub which sounds exquisite. Eco by Sonya is available on Organic Tan.
Have you tried Eco by Sonya?
Take care,
Liz

Hi Liz,
Love the overview of each product – I'd never heard of Eco by Sonya until your post, but it looks like their products are great! The spray-on coconut deodorant would definitely be worth a try, as I've not seen many other natural deo sprays!
