The Hibistonic
If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the Hibistonic! A good toner can only be beneficial for the skin, from controlling/removing excess oil to providing nourishment, it’s a step I never miss in my routine, and I’m glad to report that the Hibistonic is truly outstanding.
The Hibistonic is an all-in-one toner with astringent, antiseptic, hemostatic and anti-inflammatory effects to skin. It’s a clear toner, with a perky spicy scent, thanks to the Cinnamon. After cleansing or face masks, I apply a few drops on a cotton round and I wipe off any residues, which leaves my skin refreshed and ready to move on to the serum application. After a regular use of the Hibistonic in my routine, I feel less spots on my usual problem zones. I also like to apply it directly on the zit to speed up the shrinking and healing process. The Hibistonic would benefit to all skin types: Ginko Biloba and Hamamelis provide a protecting effect as they are high in antioxidants. A keeper for me.

The Photoshop-oil
Moisturized, tanned and glowy gams at the same time? Yes it’s possible thanks to the Photoshop oil. It’s a bronzing oil, which also conceals small skin blemishes. This provides a shimmery golden halo (say it in a Beyonce voice ;). Fear not the oompa oompa effect, the Photoshop oil is very subtle. The smell is intoxicating, it’s a tropical-island holiday in a bottle, thanks to the coconut-Tahitian flower blend. The finish is natural-looking because the oil sinks in, without looking greasy. This is the kind of product, I’d take with me on a summer holiday, I don’t tan, I have pale legs (which I sometimes lovingly refer as chicken legs ;-), yet I still want to add a little bit of bronziness to my legs, arms and decolletage. Those not sensitive to coconut oil can also apply it on the face, as the texture is really lightweight and a bit reminiscent of Dr. Hauschka’s Transclucent Bronze concentrate, except that it’s more shimmery.

The Stop Spots serum (anti-acne healing complex)
The spot serum heals slower than Soveral’s Spotless treatment (here) however it does the job. The roll-on application is simply clever, because you can easily carry it in your bag, and apply it during the day to resorb the zit as quickly as possible. The Stop serum goes back to basics, by featuring a blend of ingredients which are common in anti-acne formulas: Manuka oil (anto-mictobial), lemon peel (antiseptic, skin-brightening), tea tree (anti-inflammatory), and Cedarwood (balancing properties). The less sweet part? The price. It turns out to be the costiest spot serum I’ve ever tried, and for that amount of money, I expect something with a bit more ‘pizzazz‘, something that eradicates the spot in a record time. Efficient? Yes. Extraordinary? Not quite yet.

Ami Iyök is not your typical eco-luxe brand, it stands out by its exotic formula, and some products such as the Hibistonic are outstanding. I wouldn’t be surprised if I saw more stockists for Ami Iyök in the future. Meanwhile, I’ll definitely continue to explore the line, particularly the Purifying mask and the Green Shaman cleanser.Ami
Iyök is currently distributed in Spain, and in several spas/shops
accross Europe (France and Italy) and Asia (Hong Kong, Macau). You can also order
via their website.
Have you tried Ami Iyök?
Take care,
