Almost tempted to name it the “no-makeup” makeup look since the result remains very natural. I kept it light and fresh, with neutral tones. The emphasis is on the glow factor. It is effortlessly easy to create and will only take a few minutes.
Before taking care of the base, I apply La Bella Figura Decouverte Under eye corrector to brighten my undereye and create a luminous look. It works fab under concealer or foundation for that glow-from-within effect. In warmer temperatures, I tend to opt for powder foundations for better and more efficient lasting power.
To awaken my complexion and get this dewy (but not greasy) finish, I like to mix a few drops of the super lightweight Rosalena Love & Me face oil with Zuii Organic Flora loose powder foundation in shade, “Buff”. I use Ecotools Bamboo foundation brush to do the base. It doesn’t feel like I’m wearing foundation yet I do get the sufficient coverage without the cakiness. For a soft contour, Lily Lolo Sculpt and Glow Contour duo is the way to g(l)o(w). Foolproof in its pressed form, I use an angled blush brush and I gently work it into the hollows of my cheeks. The result is subtle but the intensity is easily buildable. The color is a light caramel, and thankfully not muddy-looking, which I believe will compliment many skin tones. My experience with contouring is very limited, so if I’m able to use this Lily Lolo palette, everyone can.
I then use the highlighter from the same palette. Just like the bronzer, a little goes a long way: I dust it over my cheekbones, on my forehead, bridge of the nose and the eyelids. The more luminous, the better. Lily Lolo highlighter has the right amount of shimmer to get your glow on, without looking like a Disco ball. It catches the light like nobody’s business. Surprisingly, it’s the eye makeup that required the most products: starting off with PuroBio cosmetics cream primer on my eyelids, which is now an unskippable step for me because this prevents product transfer and smudges. To give the appearance of fuller lashes, I use Alima Pure natural eye pencil in “Ink” on my upper waterline, along the lashes. On the outer corner of my lower lash line, I delicately apply Ilia Beauty Silken eyeshadow stick in “Take on Me” which is a metallic wine, just to give a little more definition. All over my eyelids, I used Modern Minerals Makeup loose eyeshadow in “Lola”, a warm shimmery apricot/rose pink and on the crease, I dab with my fingertips a little bit of Au Naturale organic creme highlighter stick in “Rose Gold”. Both colors work beautifully together to create this soft bronze look. I finished off the eye makeup look with Couleur Caramel double mascara from their new Zanzibar Palace collection. No more than two coats of black mascara just to give the lashes the right amount of volume, without looking too dramatic.
On my lips, I apply Alima Pure Velvet lipstick in “Caroline” a warm pink nude which gives that longed my-lips-but-better look. Since I wanted more glossiness to keep on with the glow theme, I applied on top of it FitGlow Beauty Good Gloss “Koi”, whose color blends perfectly with “Caroline”.
Et voilà! You can easily transform this into an evening look by reinforcing the contour or put on a bolder lipstick color.
