You know that classmate who always comes prepared, with a filled-to-the-brim pencil case and extra sheets of paper? The one you’d ask to borrow some of his things because you forgot half of your stuff at home? Well, Beauty Heroes is that friend…for your skincare regimen. Just like July’s box (reviewed here), the August Box introduces you to another skin ally for the summer, namely the Laurel Skin Sun Damage Repair serum.
Laurel Skin is a Californian-based artisan skincare line founded by Laurel Schaffer. Laurel exudes kindness and joie de vivre and her products are a reflection of that. No wonder this is the second collaboration between Laurel Skin and Beauty Heroes. It’s simply too good not to share.
The Hero product: Laurel Skin Sun Damage Repair serum
This is one of Jeannie Jannot’s (aka the extraordinary Beauty Heroes founder) favorite products. A deep, concentrated (look at that golden color) serum that has an outstanding amount of potent and precious ingredients intended to use for hyperpigmentation and sun damage. I’ve experienced amazing results with sea buckthorn, sesame, raspberry, rosemary, marshmallow, comfrey and a few more in the past, so finding them all together and – cherry-on-top – mixed with even more botanical goodness could only be a good omen. The new ingredient for me was the scarlet pimpernel flower, which has excellent calming and soothing properties. Scarlet pimpernel flowers open only when the sun shines, it couldn’t be a better fit for the sun serum. Sunscreen may play a role in keeping the skin in good condition, but I also believe that a serum/treatment plays a key role. While sunscreen and (sunhat) keep me from turning into a red lobster, whenever I finish my skincare routine with the sun damage repair serum, I can almost feel my skin let out a sigh of relief. A few drops suffice to cover the whole face, neck and chest area. The repair serum restores balance while keeping my skin fresh and calm. In addition to its soothing benefits, I enjoy the healthy glow that I get after massaging a few drops each time. After several weeks, I’m starting to see some improvements in terms of evenness.
Ingredients: Jojoba Oil*, Rosehip Seed Oil*, Red Raspberry Seed Oil*, Almond Oil*, Sesame Oil*, Sea Buckthorn Oil*, Cranberry Seed Oil˚, Pumpkin Seed Oil*, Red Grape Seed Oil*, Tamanu Oil*, Rosemary Extract*; in-house biodynamic proprietary blend of Scarlet Pimpernel*, Calendula*, Gotu Kola*, Licorice*, Bilberry Fruit*, Comfrey*, Chamomile*, Red Clover*, Marshmallow*, Rosehip Fruit*, Nettle*, Horsetail*; essential oil blend of Sandalwood*, Carrot Seed*, Helichrysum*, Cistus* *certified organic ingredient
Honey Berry Enzyme mask
A ‘beesfully’ decadent and delectable mask made of raw jelly, honey and a tutti-fruity selection of berries and grapefruit. Almost good enough to eat. I’ve been eyeing this one for ages. I tend to favor honey masks, but I’m glad I got to have a taste of it now. Honey-based masks are intensely nourishing and provide mild exfoliation. A honey mask gives you a nice glow, particularly efficient to revive dull and tired skin, which is exactly what this enzyme-rich mask does. Skin looks softer, brighter and glowier. Beauty Heroes ‘spa expert tip’ is to apply and leave the honey mask on for 20 minutes while enjoying a hot bath with bath salts. I totally need to try this.
Ingredients: Honey*, Royal Jelly*, Strawberry*, Blueberry*, Grapefruit˚ essential oil *certified organic ingredient
The Before and After Sun Body Oil is a nourishing and antioxidant-rich treat made with avocado, red raspberry seed, coconut, sea buckthorn and a stunning blend of essential oils. Skin feels silky smooth after application and keeps dryness and flakiness due to hot temperatures.
Ingredients: Avocado Oil*, Jojoba Oil*, Red Raspberry Seed Oil*, Rosehip Seed Oil*, Almond Oil*, Olive Oil*, Coconut Oil*, Grape Seed Oil*, Rosemary*, Sea Buckthorn Oil*; essential oil blend of Sandalwood*, Frankincense*, Carrot Seed*, Roman Chamomile*, Ylang Ylang*, Neroli*, Myrrh*, Helichrysum*; flower and gem essences *signifies certified organic ingredient

Cleansing face is very important. If we don’t cleanse it properly the dust get skin in the face and can harm the skin causing acne or various problem. So to keep skin healthy, one must have proper diet, sleep and along with this one must use proper skin care products.
