As you might have heard, Beauty Heroes has added a new string to its bow and it’s a special makeup selection (I can already feel the excitement of my fellow makeup lovers), in collaboration with an eco-pioneer and one of the most popular cosmetics line, namely Vapour Beauty. Vapour is based in Taos, New Mexico and they are one of the few natural beauty brands who manufacture all their own makeup in their facility.
I’ve been familiar with the brand for several years now, but I keep being excited by their new launches and colors. I did a brand review last year which can be found (here).
Now Beauty Heroes selection contained 3 products that I had yet to try: the Stratus Soft Focus Skin perfector, the Aura Multi-Use Radiant Classic Blush in EROS and the Clarity organic Makeup remover.
Let’s start with the full-size Stratus Soft Focus Skin perfector
I’ve been secretly eyeing this product for ages, but I was unsure how I would make use of it as it’s quite a unique product. Described as “a real-life Instagram filter”, I was more than intrigued to put it to the test and see how it performed. I mostly struggle with large pores and when I take close-up pictures of makeup looks, the pores appear clearly. The Stratus Soft Focus Skin Perfector works essentially as a primer.
According to Vapour, this is their most universal shade – s904, which is a pink color. The color, however, disappears as soon as you massage the product on your skin. I was a bit startled by the texture. Upon application, it has a cream texture but turns almost ‘powdery’. My oily skin was rather content because I can quickly feel my skin overwhelmed by product layering.
Vapour’s Stratus Skin Perfector contains light-diffusing and reflecting fine mineral particles, contributing in providing this luminous effect. This is precisely that ‘lit-from-within’ glow which distracts from visible lines or pores. Lines or pores do not disappear nor look smaller – it’s all about providing the “illusion” – but the overall aspect of your skin looks significantly brighter. Another effect produced by the Skin Perfector is the extra plumpness. Skin looks more firm and plump. I use the Skin perfector on its own for a glowing complexion (without entering a disco-ball effect territory!). Depending on your skin tone, you could even use it as a cream highlighter. However, its prime (see what I did here) function is to be a primer; a fantastic base before applying foundation because it makes your skin extra luminous as well as firmer. I tried using it with powder and liquid foundation and Vapour’s primer performs great underneath both.

The ”Eros” Aura Multi-Use stick
A deluxe sample size of the award-winning Aura Multi-Use stick in their best selling color, Eros. Vapour Beauty does not use any synthetic dyes, but they are not vegan as beeswax and carmine do appear in some of the products. I personally love Vapour’s Aura multi-sticks, they have an outstanding variety of beautiful shades and they are terrific beauty multitaskers. I have been using them for cheeks, eyes and lips. I reviewed the shade “Charm” on the blog (here) and on The Peridot Mag, where I did a feature on makeup sticks (here). Eros is a gorgeous soft red that will flatter most. Pictured below is Eros on my cheeks and lips. I applied lip balm beforehand to make the color glossier. However, my favorite way to use it is on my eyelids because it turns into a red-copper cream eyeshadow. I’ll share a picture on Instagram as soon as I do another makeup look.

USDA certified organic eye makeup remover and oil cleanser – Clarity. The Clarity Cleansing oil is a great sidekick. Their expert tip in the Beauty Heroes brochure is to mix a few drops with organic sugar for a decadent facial scrub. It is superb and skin feels baby soft afterward.
The total value of the selection is $101, but if you buy the selection alone it is $45 ($38.25 if you’re already a Beauty Heroes member) – shipping costs not included, but they are the same as for the regular beauty box. You can also combine the selection with other orders.
Are you excited about this new service by Beauty Heroes? What’s your favorite Vapour Beauty makeup product?
Take care,
