Alexis Rose, the founder of Lilfox, otherwise known as Madame Fox, is serving us some tropical dreams in this month’s Beauty Heroes box. Based in Florida, her whole collection exudes sea, sunshine, and love. A certified aromatherapist and essential oil educator, Alexis Rose inserts her knowledge and expertise into her creations and if you’ve used her products before, then you know that she’s incredible in crafting sensory blends. Her products smell and feel amazing. I was fortunate enough to win a while back during one of her giveaways, the Seabuck + Neroli Youthful Vixen face nectar which gave me already a beautiful taste of the brand’s philosophy.
I’m going to start off with the sidekick for a change since it is the new and “soon-to-be-released” LilFox Cleopatra restorative milk + honey beauty mask which is a dry mask. I am personally an avid user of dry masks, while it can get a little messy (clumsy hands might always have a tiny bit of apprehension) dry powder masks are easier to store and have a longer expiry date. Also, they are highly versatile, you can add honey, yogurt, water, floral water or oil to create a custom blend.
Cleopatra will undoubtedly unleash the inner queen in you – because you’re worth it. It stimulates microcirculation without feeling aggressive on the skin, thanks to the smart dosage of white, rose, and Moroccan lava clays. The latter can be a bit stronger, but pink clay is usually recommended for more sensitive skin and balances it out. Cleopatra has been designed to suit most skin types and to tackle several skin woes at once. It nourishes (rose and coconut), exfoliates (honey and dead sea salt) brightens (thank you, papaya and pineapple) and injects some extra vitamin C and antioxidants (courtesy of baobab and maca). If this does not sound like a winning combination, then I don’t know what is. Rose quartz supposedly brightens and “offers energetic heart opening vibration”, something I’ll gladly surrender to. I love this mask because there are immediate results with it. My complexion appears rosier and glowing. It leaves no chance of survival to dullness and fatigue. I would purchase the full-size because it tackles everything at once. It even got rid of a few little blemishes I had which was a pleasant surprise for me as I used Cleopatra

The Jungle Glow is formulated with honey from a specific beekeeper in Hawaii, dedicated to sustaining the bee population and educating on the importance of bees. I completely understand why Alexis Rose made the quality of her honey a priority because honey masks are either hits or misses. I, for instance, have had several issues with them. The gooeyness of honey-based products quickly turns my face into a sticky mess and causes me breakouts. As a result, I tend to use honey in skin care in moderation. I was also initially worried due to the weather change that it might be less efficient as it would have been in the winter where my skin is on the drier side. Fortunately, I was wrong, simply because the Jungle Glow does not leave a sticky film after washing it off. My skin feels fresh, clean and balanced. On a damp face, a scoop of Jungle glow is easily spreadable and ready to be massaged onto the skin. This moment of the cleansing ritual feels very relaxing: as I massage my face, I can feel the tension go away. Lilfox also recommends to mix it with dry powder mask (hello Cleopatra) to extend the mask treatment length, but personally, I enjoy the Jungle Glow as a cleanser rather than a mask. I then follow up with Cleopatra, because that way it enables me to use up Jungle Glow quicker. (#bloggerproblems 😉

To sum it up: for a soft and glowing complexion, I use Jungle glow as a cleanser/exfoliant and follow up with Cleopatra. I’ve done it several times and my skin feels amazing every time I use them together. As a matter of fact, my skin was slightly irritated and congested yesterday and I immediately brought out these two magic jars. Today, my skin feels fresh and balanced again.

Another element worth mentioning is the artwork, made by Nathalia Jhete. Have a look at her portfolio, her work is superb. She really created a stunning visual identity and the illustrations fit Madame Fox’s products like a glove. I could not resolve myself to get rid of the box, it’s just too pretty (same for the Beauty Heroes catalog – the little fox is adorable)
Through her lush and uber-decadent skincare collection, Lilfox inherently invites you to unwind and transform your cleansing time into a pamper routine. Even if your beauty routine is a few minutes short, 5 minutes with the Jungle Glow (and Cleopatra if you’ve got 10 minutes 😉 is pure bliss. This might have been one of my favorite Beauty Heroes boxes because both products work beautifully together, however, I might be a teeny bit biased because I loooove face masks in general. On a serious note, the April box offers you a legit spa routine in the comfort of your own home. You’ll feel refreshed and pampered after using this stunning duo.
You have until April 20th to join to receive the box (here). Beauty Heroes ships internationally. If you’re interested in shopping more LilFox, don’t forget that Beauty Heroes members automatically have 15% off the shop (here).
Have you tried LilFox? What do you think of this month’s Beauty Heroes box?
Take care,
