I’m talking about Uvas Frescas facial exfoliant scrub*.
Uvas frescas (transl. “fresh grapes” in Spanish) and you guessed it, this brand highlights the benefits of organic grapes in cosmetics. Organic grapes are a great source of Resveratrol, fatty acids and vitamins E + C which is supposed to help protect the skin from external agents. The scrub is BDIH certified, not tested on animals, petroleum, silicone and synthetic fragrance – free.
At first glance, the scrub reminded me of a Chia pudding. It has a gel consistency, but is not gooey which turns the face scrubbing into a gentle and pleasant experience.
I’m really enjoying using this during the summer, because I get a cooling sensation on my skin upon application.
I’ve been using it twice a week, and it provides a mild but efficient exfoliation. It’s easily washed off and I can tell my complexion has been looking more glowy since using it.
What really impressed me though, was by how soft, my skin feels after using it. Soft as a baby’s bottom!
As opposed to dry powder scubs, cream versions have a significantly shorter shelf life, it’s preferable to use this up within 6 months, for maximum benefits.
The preservatives used are benzoic acid, sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate, and while there’s alcohol in it (cetearyl alcohol, cetyl
alcohol, arachidyl alcohol, behenyl alcohol), I didn’t experience any irritations. These are known as fatty alcohols, and their effects on the skin are different, even opposed from ethyl alcohol (ethanol). Derived from coconut oil – except arachidyl (peanut) – they act as emulsifiers and are used in skincare to help improve stability and adjust skin feel.
Ingredients: Acqua, Aloe Barbadensis Juice, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides, Prunus ameniaca seed powder, Clyceril Stearate, Vitis vinifera Extract, Vitis vinifera seed Powder, Xantham Gum, Melisa Officinalis Extract, Decyl Oleate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Arachidyl Alcohol, Behenyl Alcohol, Arachidyl Glucoside, Decyl Glucoside, Cetearyl Glucoside, Phytic Acid, Carragenan, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium essential Oils, Citral, Eugenol, Isougenol, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool, Citronellol.
If you’re hesitant towards dry powder scrubs, because they might feel abrasive, this is really a great alternative as it’s creamy and smooth, and very refreshing to use in the summer. To top it off, it has a subtle, but lovely fruity scent.
Size: 50ml

Cute and I like the look of the consistency:) xx
No, of course I haven't heard of Uvas Frescas because you so often introduce me to new brands! 😉 It sounds really lovely and I've begun to realise that I much prefer scrubs and masks that are "wet"…one, I don't need to mess around with applying liquid (I can be lazy!) and two, I feel I get better results. I currently use Pai's Jojoba beads exfoliating scrub which I'm really loving. This one sounds lovely as well and garners a closer look. Great review as always Liz! xx
Never heard of this brand Liz. Je suis totalement le type de personne ou la poudre est trop abrasive, j'aime l'idée du gel <3 xx
