Makeup SWAT(ches) : Modern Minerals Makeup, ILIA Beauty, SANTE and Alima Pure

This post is a rather short but – hopefully – sweet one. I post a lot of swatches on Instagram, but I had yet to do proper swatches comparing different eyeshadows. I rely on swatches a lot, since there are no brick.and-mortar stores around me, so I thought I’d dedicate an entire post to swatches. Let me know if you’d like to see more swatches – including lipstick ones 🙂

On the picture above, you have all my eyeshadows from Modern Minerals Makeup, I ordered their Try+ Travel kit along with Britanie’s collection. The samples are quite small, but very helpful because you’re able to quickly determine if the shades work for you or not.
The only full-size product I have, is the “Lola” shimmer eyeshadow (the first on the left) and it came in a former Petit Vour box. The Petit Vour box started piqued my curiosity for MMM, because their pigmentation is simply neat, and I was very satisfied with the wearability and lasting power of the eyeshadow.

In the swatches above, I compared my latest makeup purchases which are the stick eyeshadows from Ilia Beauty, namely “Age of Consent” (metallic brown with golden hues) and “Take on Me” (metallic wine). Color-wise, they are irreproachable, and you can create sophisticated makeup looks with them. Now I’m still testing them out, especially paying attention to the lasting power. I’m trying different combinations (with primers, setting powders etc.). For now “Take on me” seems to be performing better in that matter. Don’t get me started on the 80’s songs references, which I obviously approve of ; I’ve had a hard time getting A-ha’s song out of my head now ;D
If you’re curious about RMS eye polish, which is hands down the raddest metallic purple for me, I reviewed it here. The Sante eyeshadow stick is a staple in my makeup arsenal, I’ve repurchased this coffee shade quite a few times. (reviewed here).

Also, if you love swatches you have to follow Content Beauty! They organize on Twitter the #Swatchinghour  starting at 1pm (UK time) where you can ask them for swatches of any makeup product they stock. It’s seriously amazing <3

Which are your favorite colors? Have you tried any of these products?

Take care,
