Tamara: I honestly struggle picking skincare favourites as they do tend to vary hugely season to season, I do however seem to be coming back to certain products time and time again. When it comes to certified organic beauty products these four have earned their place on my “come back” list:
Pai Rosehip oil. I believe this is my fourth bottle, and that is saying something. As soon as Pai released their rosehip oil, I simply had to try it and it has become a staple ever since. I don’t replace it immediately once it runs, simply because there is never a shortage of face oils on my shelves, but I always miss it when it is not around.
Herbfarmacy chickweed balm. This particular balm is a bit of a new discovery, but it is at the top of my list because it is a true skin saver. This balm is designed to calm itchy skin and it does exactly that. It sorted out a mystery patch of irritated skin on my upper arm that was refusing to go away, and now I refuse to be without it. Handy 20ml size makes it perfect to take with me on my travels too, and it is super affordable.
Therapi rose otto face wash. As my skin is combo/oily during the spring and summer months, I am partial to a gel cleanser. However, it can’t be something that will be irritating, overly foamy, or makes my face feel like freshly cleaned dishes… You know what I’m getting at, nothing stripping. This cleanser works so well for my skin it has become my go to when my face looks really oily in the mornings and my step two cleanser in the evenings.
Living nature wild fire lipstick. Red is pretty much my go-to lip colour for most evening events and whenever I want a bright lip but not feeling the pinks or corals. To make it simple, 70% of the year I wear red. As soon as Living Nature released wild fire, it became one of my favourites. Not only is it certified with Cosmos, but it also doesn’t contain carmine. The colour is absolutely gorgeous, and the formula feels absolutely incredible on the lips.
Liz: Pretty much like Tamara’s picks, mine are staples and products that I already have or will re-purchase rather than ‘current favorites’.
Pai Perfect Balance Blemish Serum with Copaiba & Zinc. There are not many serums targeted for blemish-prone/acneic skin and I’m grateful for this one. Using it consistently, rewarded me with a significantly improved complexion, fewer blemishes, and an overall balanced skin. For an extra ‘so fresh and so clean’ feel, I love to use it after the Copaiba Deep Cleanse AHA Mask.
Herbfarmacy Mallow Beauty Balm. The packaging has now changed (as you can see from Tammy’s thumbnail picture). I use it for everything; to treat dry patches, tame fly away hair, as a protective moisturizer for the winter, as a balm cleanser, or hydrating mask/treatment to protect my skin from drying out in the shower.
Herbfarmacy hydrating serum: A featherlight hydrating serum with a little plumping effect. It works really well as a primer underneath makeup and it provides me enough hydration for the day without breaking me out.
Terre Verdi Yoga and Sports body oil. This is not solely intended for sports, now that Fall has arrived, I long for more spices-formulated oils to warm up my body. I use it in the morning to pick-me-up and let my body know that it’s time to get active and seize the day. The delicious ginger-pepper scent is also very uplifting.
Pai organic jojoba and kukui skin brightening exfoliator. I always have one as a back up. I’ve been using it for years now because it works amazingly well for me. My complexion looks brighter and smoother after each use without disrupting its balance. I sometimes use it as a morning cleanser when I feel like my face is looking dull and in need of a quick refreshment. I love it forever and ever.
