Eco eyeshadow palettes round-up + hella lots of swatches

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Eyeshadow palettes galore on my blog today. I’m back with one of my favorite types of posts, namely the makeup round-ups which include true-to-color swatches. After my eyeshadow round-up (here), I decided to do a focus on palettes, as I found some amazing ones recently. A few years ago, it was not an easy task to find a nice makeup palette, (the challenge for pressed makeup being to be free of synthetic pressing agents), but this is passé now. Next up, will be a (humongous) highlighter round-up so stay tuned.

The CREAM eyeshadow palettes.

The ratio cream/powder in my stash is disproportionate because I get on better with powder eyeshadows (#oilylids) but I have found two cream products that hold up well with less expected creasing.

Pacifica supernatural eyeshadow trio “breathless, glowing, sunset” (vegan)

Pacifica is a vegan and cruelty-free US brand that has a vast selection of products, they do have some larger eyeshadow palettes but I could not purchase the one I wanted as it was unavailable on iHerb, Pharmaca or Vitacost which are the only US retailers that ship Pacifica goodies internationally. As a result, the trio I have is not a “palette” per se but the colors are so pretty that you can easily create a gorgeous makeup look with the three of them. They have a beautiful metallic effect and a cream-to-powder finish upon application. Liz’ little tip: blend the three colors together and you get a beautiful rose gold shade. They are smooth like butter and apply like a dream. You can even use them as highlighters.

Price: EUR 10.00 for 3.0g.
Ingredients: Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, euphorbia cerifera, (candelilla) wax, copernicia prunifera, (carnauba) wax, butyrospermum parkii (shea butter), oryza sativa (rice starch), helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, argania spinosa (argan) kernel oil, tocopherol (vitamin E), kaolin. May contain: titanium dioxide, iron oxides (ci 77492, ci 77491, ci 77499), ultramarines, manganese violet.

Nude and Noir face palette “Bijou” (vegan)

Another fantastic vegan and cruelty-free brand that has released 4 compacts made with plant-based oils, and waxes. Each palette contains 4 shades for eyes, lips, and cheeks. I already reviewed it back in December (here) but the consistency of Nude & Noir is very interesting, you have to warm up the colors but once applied they blend seamlessly.  The Bijou palette is perfect for a warm, soft bronzy look. I love the colors they picked. It is less creamy than say, RMS so I felt like the staying power was slightly more efficient here.

Price: CAN$46 for 9.06g.

The POWDER eyeshadow palettes

  • The quads
Benecos Quattro eyeshadow “Coffee and cream” (vegan)

It is one of the most affordable eco brands available and the embodiment that quality does not always come with a hefty price tag. The quad can rival with its high-end makeup counterparts. The palest shade does not show up well on the swatches as it is a very light color but they are all gorgeous. Easy to apply and work with with a smooth texture and a wearing time that is sufficient. You have two mattes and two shimmers so you can create a couple of eye makeup looks.

Price: 4.99 for 8g.

Lavera illuminating eyeshadow “Indian Dreams” (vegan)

Another fabulous affordable palette. What I love about the Lavera quad is that it can be used wet & dry. Dry, the intensity is similar to Zuii, it is more on the softer side. Use it with a wet brush and you will create the most dazzling makeup look! You really get the best of both worlds.

Price: 6.99 for 2g.

Zuii Quad “Fresh”*

The certified organic Australian brand that formulates with flower petals. The quad Fresh has 4 summery shades that are very flattering. They are not completely matte, it’s more of a silky matte finish with as you have a hint of shimmer. They call for a warm, but subtle eye makeup, but bear in mind that pigmentation-wise this is not the most wowing product but it makes up for ti by staying put on the lids for many hours. Nevertheless, the colors are really pretty and it looks very natural-looking.

  • The larger palettes
Ere Perez Chamomille eyeshadow palette “lovely” (vegan)

Ever since their rebrand, Ere Perez came up with stellar new launches and the palette is one of them. Initially, it was not ‘love at first swatches’ but once applied on my eyes, I became a fan. Lovely contains 6 dainty and neutral shades (3 matte and 3 shimmers). They do not pack a lot of pigment at first, but you can relatively build up the intensity. What I love is how they blend like a dream. It looks so fresh and natural and you have no fallout.  I really enjoyed how soft, easy-breathy and delicate my eye makeup was. This is a great daily palette. The use of chamomile is clever as it is a soothing ingredient, thus suitable for sensitive eyes.

Price: 6g for £26.50
Ingredients: native rice (oryza sativa) starch, mica, calcium silicate, zinc stearate, caprylic/capric/ lauric triglyceride, triheptanoin, chamomile (matricaria recutita) oil, carnauba (copernicia cerifera) wax, tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), potassium sorbate. May contain: +/- iron oxides, CI77891, CI77019.

Studio78 Paris “prête pour la fête” palette  (vegan)*

A mixture of shimmers and mattes with a stunning array of shades. What I love about this palette is that you can easily transition from a day-to-night makeup look with the color range. You can wear the neutral colors during the day and add a pop of metallic green, blue or copper. The shadows are soft and blendable, the pigmentation is good, you don’t need to pick up a lot of product and the effect is neat. They are also amongst the most long-lasting eyeshadows I’ve worn, so the palette is definitely party-approved.

Price: EUR. 45.00 for 12g.
Ingredients: Mica, Oryza sativa powder*, Octyldodecanol, Squalane, Magnesium stearate, Silica, Lauryl olivate, Benzyl alcohol, Tocopherol, Parfum, Lauroyl lysine, Adansonia digitata seed oil*, Dehydroacetic acid, Limonene, Linalool. May contain: CI 77891, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, CI 77007, CI 77742

PHB ethical makeup professional palette (vegan)

A++ for pigmentation, I cannot praise them enough. They pack a punch, color-wise. I did a lengthy review (here) and I highly recommend giving PHB makeup a try. There’s a little bit of fallout occurring when picking up the product, but this is the palette that enables you to get a vibrant and funky eye makeup look.

Price: £69.90 for 90g.
Ingredients: Mica, Iron Oxides, Calcium Carbonate, Caprylic Triglyceride, *Simmondsia Chinensis (Organic Jojoba), Ultramarines, Titanium Dioxide. Inika day to night eyeshadow palette* (vegan)

I just realized that I have three Australian brands featured here. My last pick is the Inika day to night palette which comprises a beautiful range of earthy hues, mixing mauves, browns, and oranges. I absolutely love every color in this palette, I think they did a great job picking shades one can actually wear, be it individually or by doing some color combos. The 7 shades are pigmented, long lasting with limited creasing. They have a silky feel upon application and blend seamlessly. All the colors are wearable and you can create a variety of looks. The finish is rather matte which will appeal to people who may not enjoy shimmers as much as I do hehe.

Price: EUR. 56,00 for 10,5g.
Ingredients: Mica, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Octyldodecanol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Zinc Stearate, Silica, Glyceryl Caprylate, Pentylene Glycol (Sugar Cane), Cinnamic Acid, Glyceryl Undecylenate, P-Anisic Acid, May Contain (+/-) Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Tin Oxide, Manganese Violet (CI 77742).[/vc_column_text][vc_masonry_media_grid gap=”15″ grid_id=”vc_gid:1526661150056-19e069f9-5657-3″ include=”7525,7524,7509,7492,7526,7491,7490″][thb_gap height=”15″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

All in all, you will notice the variety of textures and colors now available in the green makeup world. There’s something for everyone and I am particularly amazed how they are formulated for sensitive eyes to avoid potential irritations. Let me know if you’ve tried any of these or if you love another eyeshadow palette that is not in the list.

Take care,
